My god 5 bands turned up ! And the 5 that were meant to turn up too! Is this the start of something? Commitment from the local bands?
Anyway:
Rogue Diamonds: A new band and it showed, being first on doesn't help, neither does a tiny crowd, but they battled on with a wayward sound and Oasisesque vocals, they didn't deliver much, but I can see them doing well in the future if they stick at it.
Savanna: These have been doing the BOTBs for 3 years now, and have changed quite a bit, they're a family band and that must make for a fun house, 'hot mom' on bass is delightful. The songs were a bit bland, nothing to catch the attention, and not too much enthusiasm either, but the kids probably have a bright future.
Driven Like the Snow: Colin Brown without shoes, the alt-rock ewok himself is a mainstay of the local music scene and his passion is without question, they cocked up one song and had to start again. I've seen better sets by them, but they always deliver.
Cyanide Suzy: Well I expected a glam sleaze rock explosion, but it turned out to be a damp squib, they did nothing wrong, but did nothing exceptional either, disappointing.
Twin Jets: Winners from the off. Good show, good musicians, crowd pleaser's, what more could you ask for.
